“Training isn’t just a necessity... It’s a passion”

We believe an instructor should have 'Been there, done that'

Brandon Clifford  meets and exceeds this requirment. He is the course designer & head instructor for all our Personal Security training Courses.

His list of qualifications included:
degree in security management - d.i.t dublin personal trainer - fitness industry education delivering learning to adults - city and guilds conflict management - city and guilds krav maga instructors certification - I.K.M.F (certified by the university of tel aviv) black belt in shotokan karate (JKA) brown belt in Aki No jitsu Blue belt in ninjitsu close protection nvq - edexcell advanced driving -car limits.

"I started practicing martial arts at 8 years old with Tae Kwon Do which was followed by Shotokan Karate, in which I achieved my black belt at 15 years old. Then I studied Aki No Jitsu for 3 years as well as kickboxing competitively. When I was 18 I enrolled in a 3 year full time security management course at the Dublin Institute of Technology. The college was situated next to the Bujinkan Brian Dojo, one of the leading Ninjitsu Dojos in the western world, and I began studying the art under Brian Mc Carty (8th Dan). Around the same time I began working as a doorman in and around Dublins bars and clubs to help fund my security management studies. It was during this period that I began to realise that many of the traditional arts that I had studied were ill equipped for the realities of violence. I quickly discovered Ninjitsu was better suited for this work due to the non conformist dirty tactics that are taught in that style."

"I discovered Krav Maga in 2001 when I saw a poster advertising a class near my home in west London. I was hooked from the start. It’s effectiveness and simplicity was what I felt every martial artist was looking for so I took to training regular taking my instructors certification under Eyal Yanilov in 2005."

"Since then I have studied Krav Maga under various different stylists, fine tuning the techniques around scenarios I have witnessed or been involved in."

"I have crossed trained in other fighting arts such as Kapap, Kali, Brazilian Ju Jitsu (under Roger Gracie) and Mixed Martial Arts, training with London Shootfighters for 3 years and fighting professionally on four occasions, loosing once."

"When I was 21 I joined the Irish prison services and after 9 weeks basic training was forwarded to the elite “muftie” riot squad, a process that normally required 2 years service. During my time working in prisons I experienced some of the worst aspects of human behaviour imaginable, where extreme violence was a daily occurrence."

"I spent just over 2 years in this position and decided that the job wasn’t something I wanted to do for the rest of my life so I resigned. I went to live in Gran Canaria off the Moroccan coast working as security for a couple of clubs which in turn lead me to work in close protection positions looking after wealthy business owners on the Island."

"I moved to London in 1996 and began working as security in the bars and clubs around the west end. The job was more pleasurable than in Dublin as London didn’t seem as rough and the money was better (now the tides have turned). During my 2nd year in London I began to get some more work on the Close Protection Circuit, providing protection to wealthy visitors from the Middle East as they escaped the heat of their native countries during the summer to take up temporary residence in London."

"As my personal training and work progressed I began to acquire private clients who I would ask me to help get them in shape. I would train them on a 1-to-1 basis and the training I did with them is now written into some of the personal security training course we offer now.
Over the last 3 years I have been working as a fulltime security trainer. This also includes teaching SIA (Security Industry Authority) recognised Door Supervisor and Close Protection Course to Edexcel levels."

"I have personally developed a Physical Management program for security officers to help give them the ability to deal with aggressive customers whilst staying within the law and the realms of reasonable and necessary force. This course has proved very popular and to date I have trained over 1000 security officers in this program."

"About a year ago I relocated to Spain with my wife and young son. I now travel back to the UK on a regular basis to train security officers and teach Krav Maga Combatives."

"During my time in Spain it has been possible to formulate the new personal security training courses that are presented here. This process has involved a lot of research and reflection on past endeavours. It is my aim to present a combative system that is not based on reality but IS “Reality”. Personal experience has shown me that reality based systems do not take into account the suddenness or unpredictability of violence as I have experienced it."

"Walk in peace"
